Microsoft will add prognostic typing, also known as text foretelling, to Microsoft Word beginning in March.
As Neowin noted, the feature has been added to the Microsoft 365 public roadmap and is due to arrive next month. Microsoft bound unsuccessful text predictions for Mind-set for the web fourth-year November, and is in the process of rolling them out for Outlook for Android this calendar month. This new feature does seem to be tied to Microsoft 365, though, and information technology's non fair whether it will follow part of the newly proclaimed Office 2021.
Microsoft described how school tex prediction works last year. Victimisation AI, Microsoft wish peer complete your berm as you write. If you're writing a shared phrase that it thinks it understands, such as "all that glitters isn't…" Word might evoke "chromatic" arsenic the next word. Entirely you'll stimulate to do is press the Tab key on your keyboard and that proposition will be automatically "written" into your text. Information technology's the same manakin that Google's Gmail has used for single years, though Google uses the Place key instead.

Microsoft has used schoolbook prediction in front, on the "soft" keyboard that opens rising when your Windows tablet is uninvolved from a hardware keyboard. Yet, the text prediction Microsoft associates with your hardware keyboard opens ascending a smallish window above what you're typewriting and forces you to blue-ribbon the word manually with an additional spigot. The way Microsoft is implementing text forecasting within Word is further superior.
Last September, when Microsoft offered more detail about text prediction in Word, the company took pains to let on that what you type doesn't leave the "renter limit" of your machine–put differently, Microsoft isn't seeing it. You'll also have the option of turning off textbook prediction alone.
It's unclear how ofttimes Microsoft will try to guess your adjacent words. Interestingly, AI-powered text prediction can be with child business; Lightkey, for example, prat try to surmisal your next cardinal run-in before you've even written them.
